While regulators in Europe shilly-shally over approving the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc. (IEEE)'s 802.11a standard for high-speed wireless LANs, Philips Electronics NV has managed to score a first by getting its 802.11a card approved for sale thoughout the continent.
