Is it just me?I've seen several of the new M&S campaign posters around London, but this one of what's-her-name holding a conch shell next to her, uh, waist really makes me wonder if the photographer/agency didn't intentionally create this rather peculiar and potentially sexual juxtaposition of imagery. My buddy Matt is convinced that no self-respecting marketing manager at M&S would ever allow an image like this to be published if he/she saw it this way. What do you think? Is it just me? Think it's just you(!) What offends you in particular? The shell is there - I presume - to make her look more like Ursula Andress, no? Didn't she have a few shells on her when she famously came out of the sea in that James Bond scene.

Hi kenobi,
It does not "offend" me at all ... I just find it a very provocative image, especially for M&S.
I find it deliberately sexual in nature, and whist it might be a bitof an homage to Ursula Andres, I think there's a good deal of "boogie nights" in there as well, if ya know what I mean.

George - are you suggesting that sex in some way sells?!

George - exactly what I thought when I saw it on the tube. "Myleen Klass", I thought, "holding a gaping, pink, er, conch."
I think it might be a joke, in the it's-only-rude-if-you-think-that-way sense (or as St Francis of Assisi put it "to the pure in heart all things are pure").
